Somewhere in a little town in Thailand called Pai, I stumbled across a sticker on a wall advertising breathwork, meditation, and cold exposure. That was the moment everything changed.

Learning about Wim Hof and feeling the rush of cold plunges first-hand lit a fire in me that I couldn't ignore.

When I got home to Australia, I realised the options were ridiculous. You could either buy an insanely expensive ice bath or grab a flimsy copycat that would fall apart in weeks. Neither sat right with me.

So, I decided to design my own.

Our very first ice baths hit the Aussie market. Packed and shipped by hand from our Gold Coast garage, it was scrappy but real.

After launching our ice baths, we also introduced our oversized silicone ice trays, aka Australia's largest ice tray, as a side product to help minimise the cost of buying ice. To use the ice bath you needed a fair few bags to get it cold... and they blew up... but not how we expected.

Suddenly, it wasn't just ice bathers. Fishos, campers, BBQ fanatics, everyone wanted trays that could crank out massive ice blocks. Demand was so huge that we shifted nearly our entire focus to the trays, hand-packing and shipping thousands of orders from our little Gold Coast garage.

Twenty shipments sold out. Our garage was stacked to the roof. Freezers across the country were suddenly full of 5.5kg ice blocks instead of servo bags.

Today, I'm working side by side with my partner and we've come full circle. Ice trays put us on the map, but ice baths are where it all began, and they're back, better than ever.

Freeflo Club today is stocked in fishing stores, Mitre 10 stores, and garages across the country. But we're still that same small Aussie startup at heart, still driven by a love for the cold and the way it makes us feel.
